Nothing’s New, Year 2008
New year’s eve was fine. Yes, fine. It was not that fun, but not as boring as Christmas either. At dinner the family that rents the house behind us came and there was also my cousin Lalay and her mama, Tiya Balena. Their ‘little’ presence was already enough to make me, myself, and I happy. It was already almost midnight when the mass ended. I was very delighted that those fireworks that are shot up the sky and scatter in colors are somewhat becoming a fad of the town. I had to take videos. At home, I lit some too — kwitis and rapid fires. One chased my cousin; it was not able to fly high. Everything would’ve been perfect if it weren’t for my father and brother getting drunk (as if I’m not used to it) and my ulcer attacking again. For the new year, still, we got no family picture.

On New Year’s Day, I felt weak and my teeth felt different. You know, one does it all. It’s basically because of the molar tooth that was extracted last December 30. Initially, it was supposed to be pasta in my front tooth alone. But I turned out having my teeth cleaned and extracted too. Things were smooth — including the anesthesia — until the start of the last procedure. The tooth was found to be abnormal(?). I could hear the ‘cracks’ everytime the dentist screws it. And the usage of those pliers-like thingy really hurt. My face was pulled hard sideways. Anesthesia should have been there too.
Dentist: Whoa, feels like I’m extracting a carabao’s tooth.
What’s my sin to you that you’re punishing me like this?
I expect that nothing will be new this year. Pessimistic, huh? I heard from a classmate that Dragons are lucky (on business) this year (of the Rat) though. I hope it’s true.
2007’s a year to be remembered, I’d say. Goodbye. Happy NY everyone!
TV Blog
PBB Celebrity Edition 2: Oh my God! What the fuck! *covers mouth* -Jon Avila. This season’s housemates sure are lucky. I mean, if you’re on the material side. See, Big Brother gave all the things they wished. Baron, Jon, and Will got laptops, Mariel and Gabby SONY flatscreen TV’s, and Riza a keyboard (organ). Only one word resides in my head with all these — ENVY.
Spring Waltz: This is the new Koreanovela in ABS-CBN. Sadly, the story’s pretty much the same with the rest of them: a poor [2008-01-08 11:29] girl meets a rich boy and they live happily ever after. In this story, it also happens that they’re childhood friends that got separated. Tell me, do things like these really happen in real life? Nah, but mind you, the theme song “One Love” by Acel Bisa is really something for my eardrums.
Coffee Prince: GMA will start airing this Koreanovela next year (that’s a few days from now!). I’ve heard of a movie that has the same story as this one — a girl disguises as a boy for some reason and the boy wouldn’t know until the later part. Again, I think this is way too impossible to happen in the actual setting. Nevertheless, I think that it’s still worth watching.

Boy: First kiss ko rin ‘yun noh…sa lalake. (That was my first kiss too…to a guy.)

Slam Dunk: Yesterday’s episode was the last. Or is it? Shohoku beat the team composed of Shoyo and Ryonan players in their practice game. It was the episode in which they are about to leave for the Inter-High Competition. I have no idea if there are subsequent episodes. At the animé’s peak before, it was the last one. And I also heard that the author of the series already died.
Joyeux Noel
I just escaped hell — our house. Christmas seems to be becoming more boring each year. I don’t know. Maybe it’s also because of the fact that I’m getting old. Tsk. The house is a mess, no decorations, no Misa de Gallo, no people, and everyone appears not to have some peace of mind.

Season’s Greetings everyone. Sorry I couldn’t make a personalized one for each and everyone. And I would like to thank Christian for his gift. Really appreciate it.
Party and Seminar
Yesterday I went to Trento (a town about an hour away from ours) to attend the Christmas Party of my parent’s office, National Food Authority. We were in a swimming pool. As it turned out, it wouldn’t qualify as a “party” at all. Really. Before, when I was younger (ouch, the term hurts), their parties are simply held in their office and there are parlor games and exchange of gifts. This year’s didn’t even have the latter — actually the former too! There also used to be a special part for the kids. The new manager brought his youngest son. He’s grown-up and cool. I remember him in one of those kiddie parties before. Sigh, I don’t wanna be told to grow up.
Today I went to the seminar for the baptism of our classmate’s son tomorrow. The lady who was up front first seemed like she wanted to scold us or something. The two who followed were fine, especially the third one. I think Mama knows her. The seminar was basically about The Seven Sacraments. That was my first time. Majority of us participants were teens..? There were 12 of us high school classmates, but only 6 who went to eat to Rose Bakeshop to eat after a ‘long’ day..
Bad Luck, Bad Tuck
I was such in a bad mood earlier today. The reasons?
- Negros Navigation will be delayed. Instead of 4PM, it’ll arrive at 8:00. (now what am I supposed to do in 8 hours?!)
- I lost my coin purse. Argh!
- I have no money and I badly want to buy something to bring home. Aarrgghh!
Well, I guess moving my butt was the only solution. I arrived at Robinson’s Place at 14:00 and ate lunch at Chowking. Then I bought Christmas lights worth P99.75 at *what was the name of that store again?* Lastly, I bought some Iloilo/Bacolod delicacies. I was also at the place yesterday. We stumbled on this store “Toys Express” which sells some naughty stuffs. I even overheard one guy looking for a fleshlight. Oh yeah. You go dude. If you guys (for sure) don’t know what it is, err, you can Google it if you’re curious. I think the lady gave him something that’s definitely not for him though — a dildo. Resist the urges pretty boy!
My purpose of coming to the city yesterday was to attend the annual Lantern Parade of the university. It was worth the time. And I hoped that we had a better lantern for our academic group. I’m now at SM. I’m kind of excited at the same time scared
that the trip tonight will accommodate majority of the Mindanao-residing students from school. And oh, did you guys see the Meteor Shower last Friday night (alternatively Monday dawn)? At first I was trying to count, but then realized that there’s just too ‘many’ of them. Earlier that night was our Christmas Partey at the dorm. Received boxers, as wished.
