Trouble Is

Found this in Dave’s blog. I find it pretty interesting so decided to put it up too. Ladies, will you agree to this?

Women = Problems

I was supposed to do this a few days back but I had troubles with uploading in my wp-uploads folder. From my PoV, there’s a slight mistake in one of the equations. Find it if you can. And by the way, don’t kill me okay? I’m innocent, after all.

Reporting for Duty, Sir!

We went to school at 8:00 this morning only to find out that there’s no Internet connection, thus, we cannot pre-enlist. It was only around 10:00 when the connection came back. Lunch came and we still had no progress. We had our moment at 1:00, when our teacher came to the College Secretary office to attend to us. The connection was extremely crappy at first but eventually got all of us out of the office. Then followed the orientation for our practicum. Here’s OJT 2008 Schedule:

Look, we’re in-housed, and I really didn’t expect something as “formal” as this! I happen to be a leader, and as expected, our team’s (two members, I have) in charge of the NSTP CWTS website. With all honesty, I prefer to work alone, until wWe were oriented by the CWTS adviser this afternoon and I realized how ‘demanding’ he was. Up to now, I still haven’t thought of any good idea on what tasks I’ll give to my subordinates and how to do it. Are there some in the first place?

P.S. “Miami” in my previous post (which also appears in others, I believe) refers to the place where my campus is situated. The place’s actual name is “Miag-ao”, and students have found it quite interesting to use the name of the city in Florida instead. So Crystal (and Hiyono), I really don’t live in the US. I haven’t even stepped a foot there. :faint: Sorry ’bout that.

Just Landed in Miami

Well, here I am, back at school. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me (as if it’s my first time) here but one thing’s for sure — the Internet here at the dorm will surely make me sleepless! It’s summer, that’s why. I’m using the new Aspire right now. I haven’t taken a picture of it yet so I’ll just post my first PrtSc (print screen) on it. Hehe.

ACER Aspire 4715Z

I’m not really familiar with all those. All I’m primarily concerned of is the RAM and hard disk drive and perhaps the webcam too. Anyway, I’ll be posting the bare letter I got from Google while at home (oh, fate) too.

Google Letter

Edit [04/14 5:10 PM]: Bought new slippers today for only P90. It’s leather and cool-looking. I just don’t know if it’s as durable as it looks. Two new padlocks and a cellphone/key holder too.

Pre-OJT Post

I had a very funny dream on my afternoon siesta last Tuesday.

Together with some high school classmates, I walked a bridge made of bamboo when one classmate deliberately got ahead the rest of us. Then, all of a sudden, the bridge started swaying up and down on the part where my classmate has went to. In no time, it was about to collapse. We watched in horror and humor (oh, yes!) as my classmate was thrown out of the bridge and landed softly on the ground in the sleeping position typically shown on TV — body sitting sideways, slightly curled, and two hand facing each other with the head of the person lying on the back of a hand. Lol.

Before that one was a different dream. The Yonex Badminton racket I borrowed from my sister warped and got completely obliterated. I was in total shock but was able to take a deep breath upon finding it safe and sound hanging in the wall the moment I woke up. Basically, my vacation’s only about a week. Despite the very short time, going home was still worth it. By Saturday I’ll be taking my vessel back to Iloilo for our practicum (OJT). Of course, I couldn’t wait that long to remember everything that happened to me as I journeyed back here in Mindanao.

  1. On the day I left school I played Tennis early in the morning and the string gave off.
  2. “Meet the Spartans” didn’t please me at all.
  3. Traveled via Cebu before getting here (a total of two nights, obviously).
  4. Number of outlets for charging purposes in the vessel was only 6. With my useless charger, it was a definite struggle at sea.
  5. Unexpectedly met two schoolmates at SM City Cebu’s Traveler’s Lounge — Asylla and Tin Mae.
  6. Canvassed laptop prices on the Third Floor.
  7. Went to Netopia in an attempt to find an available outlet but found a ’seatmate’ giving her chatmate the heads via phones*x instead.
  8. Bought an “Internet for Dummies” book published in 1997. Asking why? Just tryin’ to find out how things were then. P30.00 for Booksale is surely not that much, right?
  9. After knowing that there’s no vessel bound for Nasipit (the closest one to our place), plan was to stay for a night in Cebu. Then there was one bound for Surigao. Yes.
  10. Waiting in line standing for more than an hour only to find out that there were no more tickets!
  11. Rushed to a different pier (Pier 5) and luckily got a place in the one bound for Cagayan de Oro.
  12. For the very first time, I met a couple that’s quite, uh, unique. The man was blind. At first glance, as they were approaching the drinking fountain, I knew it.

Me: Pila na mo ka tuig ma’am? (How long have you been together ma’am?)
Lady: Dugay na. (Many years already.)

  13. Rode this new cool Bachelor bus with the label “King Long”. It was such a pleasant flight trip. So cool.
  14. Movies on the bus were “Sakal. Sakali. Saklolo.” (Gina Pareño is still really funny!) and the one with Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp, and Enrique Iglesias. “Desperado 2″ is my guess.

As I’m typing this I’m still very hopeful that the Acer laptop we’ve been looking forward to will eventually arrive. The Toshiba would have been great too except that it doesn’t include its drivers.

Good Morning! Good Morning!

Apparently, this is our last overnight for this semester/academic (school) year. It’s quite surprising that even though most of us only became aware that such thing is possible, we still maximized it ’til the very end. Tonight’s the fifth time. We’re still halfway in finishing our Database Design Project “Online Ampunan” (I just hate Java!). The computer I’m using has no connection that’s why I’m blogging right now in my classmate’s laptop. Wi-Fi, oh yeah. In around four hours I’ll be back at the dorm only to fetch my things to be transfered to a different dorm for the summer break. I think I’m already decided of going home before the start of our practicum. I can’t imagine myself staying here for two weeks doing nothing. The dorm area might seem like a graveyard. Speaking of graveyard, packing my things sure was a rush tonight. Uh, it always is. I was like, grabbing items and squeezing them into the box. And I just remembered, I still need to buy a packing tape! It’s past 4 o’clock in the morning and I say Adios and Magandang Umaga!
