Flunked Up
I feel so <insert title here, all lowercase> right now. One day, I’ll create a virus less than a megabyte but is capable of a complete system destruction.

There’s always a first time…
It’s because my classmates wanted to watch it too and it happens that my laptop is one of the official cinemas this summer. Apparently, I don’t dislike watching Amanda Bynes movies over and over again (haha, just like Love Wrecked). There was a line from the movie that absolutely struck me.
“The friends you meet in college will be your friends for life.”
I’m not sure if everyone agrees to this. As for myself, I’ll just have to wait.
It was amusing playing with them (but it does hurt in the neck when you have your back on them!). Camera flashes illuminated the dark and distant sky over our head but it still did not rain. Together with us were insects that bite and planktons (according to my classmates) that glow upon contact with the clothes.
I went to my room 30 minutes past the hour of 2 in the morning and the following day I knew that the rest quit an hour and a half after I did.
I actually wanted to blog (badly) a few days back, but I just don’t feel like doing it. Tsk, happens all the time. ‘Nyway, I feel so happy right now because our project website already has a calendar plugin. In less than two weeks our on-the-job training will be over. Pause. Getting up after being awaken has become very hard for me these rainy summer days. I always end up telling my classmate “Why didn’t you wake me up?!” when in fact he did.
That’ll be all for now, I guess? See ya!

We had our first day of JSP (Java Server Pages) Training today. We were given this simple task of trying out some codes by copying them from this website and upload it to our own server. The HTML codes were hideous — capital letters in some tags and presence of deprecated ones. I made it more “good-looking” by transforming what has to be transformed. Then there’s this classmate that comes to me and asks if I was already done, because she would like to use the computer to upload her stuff to her own account. But then, it turns out that she merely changed the username (shrike) I was assigned to in the destination address in the command line!
scp /tmp/*.jsp shrike@10.51.1.32:/usr/share/webapps/shrike
Argh! I wanted to eat flesh at that instant. Yes, the effort I made was not total, but I think what she did was still simply penetrating. That’s the last fucking draw!

Last, last Sunday I was in Cebu to attend the graduation of my cousin. She’s a medicine student and this mere fact was the one that drove Mama to oblige me to go there. Such kind of graduations appear to be always held in a hotel you know.
I left Iloilo City on Saturday and for the first time in my life, I boarded the vessel ultimately last, with rain wetting my head, and me embracing a big box containing the CPU. Already aboard, water was flowing on the floor due to the rain so I had to move the box into my bed. By Sunday, when the vessel docked, I realized that it was merely beside the one my sisters took from Mindanao. So, from there on, we were together. The family of my cousin specifically her mother really loved to shop, as it seems. It was as if she never gets tired from all the walking (good thing there was always a snack, hehe). And her budget seemed unimaginable! Really, they bought a lot of things. The graduation was on Monday. The food was excellent. Not drinking any softdrink in the table at all was such a wise decision, else I was not able to taste all the dishes!
Last Thursday was Labor Day, a holiday. With nothing to do, my classmates thought of taking a little walk to town. We took the path at the so-called Hill70 (photo courtesy of Lairy) and found light at the GLOBE tower ultimately ending at the foot of the new administration building. I and Lairy pose for a picture in front of oble (The U.P. Oblation). Now we won’t graduate on time.
We ate Halo-Halo then. Back at the dorm my classmate Schiren gave me a customized birthday card. She always does it to other folks too but I was actually not expecting any. The more stimulating (oh, yea) part was, she drew this as the cover of the card! The banner was impossible to replicate, but everything else was as perfect.
P.S. To everyone who greeted me, I’ll give you your bottles the moment we meet.
Nah, in other words, thank you and CHEERS!
P.P.S. Laptop’s not yet a month old but has already undergone a Windows reinstallation.

I’m now two decades old. It’s…sad, isn’t it?

Sitting in the driver’s back, two of my classmates at the backseat and one in front, I waited for two other passengers for the tricycle to leave. Then, four other classmates arrive. No two of them is willing to leave the other two so they settled themselves in a different “trike”. Moments after…
Them: (referring to the driver) Manong, baydan nalang namon ang kulang. (Mister, we’ll just pay for the other two.)
Us: (immediately) Baydan man namon ‘nong! (We’ll pay the other two too!)![]()

And so, off the two vehicles went. We lost the race.
